The Halal Accreditation Agency of Turkey (HAK) and the Center for Accreditation of Uzbekistan (O'ZAKK Signed) the Memorandum of Understanding regarding Cooperation in Halal
During the visit of H.E. Ruhsar Pekcan, Minister of Trade, to Uzbekistan, an agreement on cooperation in halal accreditation was signed between the Halal Accreditation Agency (HAK) and the Center for Accreditation of the Republic of Uzbekistan (O'ZAKK).
The said cooperation agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in halal accreditation and conformity assessment and enable joint studies such as technical training, experience and information exchange.
The dimension of "halal accreditation" has now been added to our existing cooperation on quality infrastructure with Uzbekistan, a member of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), the affiliated institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The agreement is expected to contribute positively to establishing a modern and robust quality infrastructure under the umbrella of the SMIIC and the trade of halal-certified products.
The cooperation agreements of the HAK, signed in Turkey's cultural and geographical proximity, namely, with Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan, constitute an opportunity for the creation of a common and harmonious language among Muslims.
We are glad that joint initiatives regarding training and technical cooperation in halal accreditation and certification will begin between two brotherly countries. The HAK, by sharing its experience and knowledge with the relevant institutions of Uzbekistan, endeavors to make the cooperation between the two countries beneficial to the entire Islamic world under the umbrella of the SMIIC. The HAK will also continue to support Uzbekistan's activities in halal quality infrastructure.
