The HAK's project proposal succeeded in entering the COMCEC Final List

The Halal Accreditation Agency (HAK) submitted the project of "Developing Human Capital in OIC Countries for Technical Halal Auditing based on SMIIC Halal Certification System & Halal Quality Infrastructure" in the field of trade in the framework of the 8th Call for Project Proposals of Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) Project Funding. The project aims to develop human resources for the halal quality infrastructure based on OIC/SMIIC standards in Turkey, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Nigeria.

The COMCEC has carried out the project mechanism to increase since 2013. It aims to increase solidarity among member countries, establish multilateral cooperation, and improve human resources and institutional capacity in OIC member countries. Projects can be planned in six different cooperation areas: agriculture, finance, poverty alleviation, transport and communication, tourism, and trade.

As one of the five selected projects, our project has succeeded in being named among the Final List of the 8th Call for Project Proposals of COMCEC Project Funding.

The HAK's project titled "Developing Human Capital in OIC Countries for Technical Halal Auditing based on SMIIC Halal Certification System & Halal Quality Infrastructure", targets to create a harmonized halal certification system through the more widespread use of the OIC/SMIIC halal certification approach, to eliminate the loss of time and high costs in certification. Furthermore, this project is designed to contribute to the halal certification scheme to flourish a more business-friendly and reliable environment than a quasi-technical barrier to trade.

The HAK will continue its activities to contribute to the halal quality infrastructure and to facilitate a sound halal certification system on a global scale.
