Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between HAK and Mongolia Standardization and Metrology Institution
The Memorandum of Understanding between the Halal Accreditation Agency (HAK) and the Mongolian Agency for Standardization and Metrology (MASM) to develop cooperation in the field of halal quality infrastructure was signed in Ankara on 13 March 2023 as part of the visit of H.E. Batmunkh Battsetseg, Mongolian Foreign Minister, to H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Turkish Foreign Minister.
With the Memorandum of Understanding, it is aimed to provide mutual support between our country and Mongolia in implementation of OIC/SMIIC standards, to contribute to the establishment of a harmonized halal accreditation infrastructure based on the OIC/SMIIC approach in order to reduce technical barriers to trade, and to enhance cooperation in matters such as sharing information and expert personnel.
In order to establish a reliable halal certification system, remove technical barriers to trade and strengthen the trade potential of halal certified goods and services, MoUs had previously been signed between our Agency and relevant institutions in Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan Uzbekistan, Algeria, Sudan, Kyrgyz Republic, Qatar, Indonesia and Russian Federation to date.
